I've made only a few changes that I think reads better without changing the meaning of your poem (I hope) Just a suggestion... You don’t have to speak when I know what you’re going to say. You don’t have to speed up or slow down to suit me. You don’t need to change buy a new shirt or straighten your hair. There’s no need to worry that I’ll suddenly be gone. Don’t let yourself think that I like him over there. Don’t tell your friends you’re worried I’m going to leave.
