Bad poets' society!

I once met a man who told me bad versewas putting too many words in a line at a time,or forcing  rhyme with half words like “gawd-blime”while shouting the odds, just to make matters worse, with alliterative fellatio, frank, but fictitious, and so full of “Fs” that mouth-soap’s propitious. Then there’s erudite speedsters, rushing to sendwords straight to Heaven, and you round the bend!No one is quicker their pearls to dispense, their words all have meaning, but never make sense. And just when you feel a point must descendthe train hits the buffers as they puff “ The End”! Watch out for the sequel, it’s an absolute must, moving to “blank”, no more surgical truss. Now they spout nonsense and gabble each daythen say its a poem.... even when it’s prose.Say “I’m talking to you” and “I’m telling you now”, “I  write while I'm busy milking the cow”.Not just full of bull, but pure Welsh bard’s blood....a charlatan chewing  proverbial cud! But the secret of course to a really bad  “poem”Is chosing to rhyme it with words like “La Boheme”.And  if bad poetry’s your sorry plight, wait until I get drunk again tonight, then read me loose, don’t get up tight. My words  will snuff  romantic candle flamethey're all about me, myself and my fame. So go "f.." the Muse's insulted ears, and let me bore you all to tears!

LOL

"alliterative fellatio" indeed. Seems like a lot of folks like to give a little oral pleasure and call the resulting bodily fluids "poetry". I'm pretty sure I commit this offense every now and again too, but at least I accept every suggestion with sincere consideration and don't stomp off with "IT'S MY STYLE" or "IT CAME FROM THE HEART". Thanks for the laugh, Professor. The site could use a good unanimous giggle today. Kelsey "In criticism I will be bold, and as sternly, absolutely just with friend and foe. Well Lil Sis

I had to let off steam after you made me do all that serious work lol....but this is only a bit of fun although trying to make the poem exhibit as well as describe the qualities of bad poetry I was extolling was something of a challenge. Speak to you later perhaps....the dog is going crazy wanting his early morning walk!. Love and hugs BB

Ciao Bella

As I said the poem was merely a bit of fun in reaction to JayC making me work with her on some serious stuff. Yes I did see you had changed your poem and am flattered you took on board some of my suggestions. For me it is much improved I must say....but then what else would I say lol. Keith

It's nice to see a change-up into the humorous realm. That last stanza killed me - especially the line about writing while milking a cow. Please don't tell me you spray paint your poem into the dirt with the milk. *wink* The alliteration junkie in me has been properly sated. ~Jess K. ----------------------- "Life is the sun, and the show must go on and on; make it come true.
