a letter from Home

Tears are pointless, inept, unproductive.

We still have evermore

and after that, eternity.

But to rest your mind I’m dropping you a line

to describe my present scenery.

Painted canvas splashed all colours

washing the rainbow

and in-between

and then yet more pigmented brilliance

eyes still there have yet to see.

Symphonic echo resounds emotive,

warbling notes

so pure and clear

with harmonics dividing the chromatic scale

ears are deaf to over there.

Fragrant multi-eternal bouquets.

Even Shakespeare

has difficulty

finding words to describe smell’s purity

denied the soul until it’s here.

Sense of belonging, love abounding.

Knowledge of

great security.

Peaceful, calm, revising lessons

while waiting for you to follow me.

About This Poem

About the Author

Region, Country: Western Australia, AUS

Favorite Poets: Favourite poets? So many, so varied. I like particular songs, not necessarily the singer... and the same goes for poetry. I can honestly say though, that Alfred Noyes' The Highwayman was what inspired my love of poetry - my mother began reading it to me when I was still a baby, and it became my favourite bedtime story

hi shirley harrison my friend

if i'd ever stepped in the garden of eden they would have had to drag me out screaming and i would've been holding onto that angel's legs (the one with the flaming sword you know?) for dear life... no history of that happening in any of the myths - so i just have to assume (make an ass of you and me) that i've never been there.... love judy xxx http://www.strategicpublishinggroup.com/title/TwentyMyPrettyPonies.html

Dear Judy

My take on this was a deceased person writing to his/her loved one, to ease the way. Sorry if I'm off course here. Love, Cat

nice meter and rhythm,

nice meter and rhythm, Judyanne! I llike the flow of this poem very much... and appreciate the painstaking time it must have taken to get it 'right" as far as the technical aspects are concerned...... I have been noticing more since reading the wonderful fat book about Poetry for Poets that I was looking at recently. Great write, keep rocking....
