Largo for E

.

Xerxes sings to me

strings and kings
passionate

how lovely to behold

your shoulders
subdued

your passion mine

a force to grasp
with hungry hands

Oh lovely. lovely one!

I hold you in my heart
and  sing my lover's song

I bind you in my mermaid hair
and drown you in my depth

hold you in these dark arms

and breathe into your mouth
my longing

.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Simply superb. Every line is breathtaking, but that last line: "And breathe into your mouth my longing." ........... ~ "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi

please forgive the generic

please forgive the generic response, seemed to make sense to give just the one comment, rather than keep repeating. thank you one and all for your much appreciated comments i was listening to Handel's Largo, from his opera Xerses and this came out in about one minute flat (sigh...why can't they all be that easy?)

Mermaids

when I was reading about sailing historical captians explorers and pirates I encountered the views of popular myth back in the day when there wasnt whaling and pillaging and plundering there was the usual time to ponder and Mermaid myth was very fascinating I grew up with many childhood stories so my vivid imagination still is tended too I think I would very much be tempted to swim from the safe deck of a ship to get close to the captivating and haunting allure of these creatures

mermaids, and indeed all

mermaids, and indeed all things oceanic have always fascinated me when i'm in the ocean, i feel a connection that i can only describe as primal as you know, my house is a turn of the century victorian (built in the 1890's) next to the front door is a brass plaque with with words "Lallah Rooke" after we brought it, i did some research on the history of the property it was originally the residence of a sea captain, whose ship was the "Lallah Rooke" a tea clipper that sailed between britain and australia how could i not love my falling down, draughty, wonderful old house?
