The great escape

Tired of the prevailing,
veiling smog
the dense brown sauce
the featureless fog

for transparency and light
and  a dance in the sun
and feather-weight songs
spun on nimbly tongues

part your gloomy curtains
(with still shadowed hands)
then walk, straight and certain,
to your own "promised land"

Hello Again

The first two lines hooked me into reading the rest of the poem, which is well constructed and has great flow. Favorite lines: part your gloomy curtains (with still shadowed hands) then walk, straight and certain, to your own “promised land” Always, Cat
