the expensive cream, please

tissue on the bridge
of my nose- it glows
a beacon
like an unfortunate
zit or wart
a bullseye
on this bitter visage
leads

          to buying
a cream to mislodge
what took stitches
to hold closed
what was once
a third eye
that blinked
when i blinked
and winked
when i grimaced

the lotion itself
said to erase scars
young and old
and any creases
or wrinkles
filling in all cracks

my left thumb
and fore-finger
await the glob
from my right
these two digits
day and night
rub and rub
and rub
this bright bump
for

      two weeks now
the top of my nose
still shining
as atop a lighthouse
beckoning all to
safety.  yay...

and imagine my chagrin
as i see my
thumb and finger
no longer have
any prints!

Hello

Nice to meet you. This is a very clever poem which is well constructed. Favorite lines: two weeks now the top of my nose still shining as atop a lighthouse beckoning all to safety. Always, Cat

We examined your poem...

in my chat room Saturday night, and dedcided that we would ask what were you specifically speaking about, when you were talking about this thing on your nose? Is it a scar that you got for being too forceful in your argument for or against something? ~ Geezer

Hello

I'm sorry you are going through all of this, but I couldn't help but laugh at your last line. would it be a sebaceous cyst if so the only help for that is to have it removed and drained, or have you done that as you seem to be wanting to erase a scar. Tell me to mind my own business if you feel I have been to personal Chrys

lol! thanks all!

wish it was that deep. thanks for discussing my poem, that's a huge compliment (even if it was used as an example of what not to do, hehe). the thing on my nose was actually two stitches from when a bookcase fell on me at work (i'm a mover). the stitches cost almost four-hundred bucks, my first injury on the job, and led to this poem. i still have the scar since it happened less than a month ago. i'm babbling. thx for the attention, serious.

Babbling is allowed...

You made it sound very deep, and we all just had to know. LOL. I do think you could make it a little plainer, and humorous at the same time. It certainly provoked some stimulating conversation. Perhaps when the scar is less noticable, you might write something of a sequel. LOL ~ Geezer
