Thorns (Inspired by a question from Poewriter58)

Thorns

Love is like a thorn
It pricks the heart
Causing the soul to bleed

The emptiness of time
Heals a troubled heart
Bringing forgetfulness

Soon the heart buds
Bringing forth petals
As love blossoms once more

Ah do declare, Mr.

Ah do declare, Mr. Rhett! Beoootiful. Sorry I had to nominate. I love thorny poems. ~ "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi

A Rett 'Haiku'

Ann of Norway Its the arrow of a falling branch, piercing the petal as it reaches the ground, pinning it to the memory like a forgotten shopping list on the wall of an abandoned house.... ...and yet still lingering there is the seed of love that blooms again in spite of all the hardships. I liked this one Rett, "rett til topps!" ( should correctly hmhm be toppen, as the the is the en, but I like topps. So there Norwegian, AND I know they COULD say it like that anyhow, these days with all the American flavoured words that creep inevitably into the language day by day. Love from Ann in Norwegian-kjaerlig hilsen fra Ann. Officially: Vennlig hilsen fra...

Always a pleasure

Always a pleasure hearing from you Ann. Very happy you enjoyed that little whimsy. Chrys had asked the question as to whether two lines could be considered a poem. My personal opinion is maybe, but I think 3 or more lines are actually needed. Just one man's opinion. So, anyway, this started out as just the first two lines, then expanded to three, then I decided to complete it. *L* Respectfully, Rett: “Anyone who sacrifices liberty for security deserves neither.” Benjamin Franklin

Love is like a thorn.....yes!

Ann of Norway "Love is like a thorn It pricks the heart Causing the soul to bleed" Why not a two line poem and it works to my mind Rett;:- "Love is like a thorn, it pricks the heart Causing the soul to bleed." or a haiku-type short poem:- "Love is like a thorn It pricks the heart causing The soul to bleed" Love is like a thorn Piercing the heart Red sunset. Love is like a thorn it pricks the heart Causing the soul to bleed Red sunset. or better:- Love is like a thorn it pricks the heart Causing the soul to bleed Red rose. Yes yes yes what do you think? But that's three lines now, so what!!???? Thank you for thanking me and have a good day, love to you Rett from Ann of N.
