you crossed my path

looked back at me and smiled

and it changed my world

your smile touched my heart

and melted the burdens of my day

you weren't trying to flirt

or trying to send me a message

you were just kind

and it showed in your eyes

we never talked

I never caught your name

but our souls linked for just a second

and it changed things

now tomorrow maybe the same old thing

but today
