Inspirations Of Raven

Inspirations of Raven...
by: c.m. mattison

It is Spring here,
...already...
the quality of the rain has
changed to a gentle kiss
of awakening instead of
Winter's raw lament
for the past echoes of Summer.
Soon I will start planting
...Zebra Grass...
around my garden pool.
Once again I will sit
hidden from prying eyes
on my old fashoned wooden bench swing
in that lovely secluded grotto
...listening...
to the crystal tones of my waterfall
while carving figures
(with my pristine blade)
from the bounty of natures
broken limbed droppings
of the trees that shade me...

I want to come and live with you. Can I, can I please? Such beautiful images I could almost feel myself right there with you...A wonderful picturesque dream Xena Quote: Science is what you know; philosophy is what you don't know. - Bertrand Russell

Dear Rosina

About seven years ago I lived in Texas and this was my backyard There were a few boulders, a custom made in ground pool with a waterfall. The waterfall had a few settings, so it could be bubbling and splashing, crashing, or gently dribbling. I also had a rose garden and a little pool with water plants and a bridge over the little pool. And there were trees and stepping stones. When we had to move for my hubby's work, I mourned it. Oh, and it all lit up at night with the beautiful lights that my husband had installed. When we sold the house, it was the main feature which sold it. I miss it greatly. Always, Cat

Dear Jayne

Please see my response to Rosina. I, too, would love to go back there and play. It was in Texas. Even though beautiful, there were times when we were reminded that there was a desert around us. One day we found this HUGE lizard in the swimming pool hanging onto the skimmer for dear life. Steve used a wide board to get him out okay.

You paint a lovely picture

You paint a lovely picture of peace and quiet just enjoying your surroundings, listening to "the crystal tones of your waterfall". I loved all of your poem but I particularly loved these lines. the quality of the rain has changed to a gentle kiss of awakening instead of Winter’s raw lament for the past echoes of Summer. Thanks for sharing your inspirational words Cat. Love Mand xxxx

Dear Mand

Where I lived in Texas, it rained all Winter. The Spring rain was quite a relief from the constant sodden drizzle. I'm glad you like those lines. Always, Cat
