Trans Atlantic ties

I called you the other day
you being so far away
funny how we are still friends
after all we have said and done
at least we can say
that there is someone we told
that somewhere down the line
we can tie up our loose ends
for distance has not torn us apart
each one half of a hell of a team
with you I could walk and talk all day
as it sometimes seems we do
just holding still, the best of friends
our relationship has stood up against the obstacles
of distance as well as the tests of time
our serendipitous friendship reigns
