Jesus “Who Was He?”

Let’s think of him

from a non-believer’s point of view

Some say “He was an alien”

Let’s think about that for a moment?

Imagine a visitor from Outer-Space

landing here 2000 odd years ago

seeing what it; he saw…

primitive, ignorance, mindless wanderings

Death, war, to name but a few

Of man’s willingness to change

To be driven by supremacy, the powerful,

the leaders; thus followers ensue.

Then comes along this man,

as little is known of him as a child

a baby, yes; baby Jesus,

but what is known of him

as a teenager?

Remember, this if just a thought

not a ridicule of religion or a sin?

Imagine going back in time

with a child-doll that speaks

“Mama, Mama” a voice-box within

Or a lighter with fuel that spurts fire

wouldn’t that be deemed a miracle?

Maybe that’s why

they stopped visitin`?

I respect all religions that are for the greater good and this is just a poem of thought.

You won't believe this but, I got handed a leaflet today about Jesus and this poem came to mind. Not about Jesus being an alien, but about how people in the days of Jesus would react to our technology of today if we could go back in time with some of it. Even the simple things like the talking doll “Planet of the Apes” part one film, came to my head when the ape found a talking doll in the ruins of America and freaked out because it could talk. Xena

You are very creative Rosina

Ann of Norway That's an interesting poem indeed it is, Very intriguing idea. People of the past wouldn't believe our technology to be true, maybe even think that aliens had already taken over the planet, don't you think? They are, were so different from us in thought and deed. Just a thought from me too Rosina. Well done finding an unusual subject. Lots of love from Ann.

Gee Ann...

So many possibilities? My thoughts were of, if I was an alien, and saw what went on then, and what goes on now; I think I’d go to warp 9 … “Star Trek” and get the hell out of here and come back when the earth has something more to offer the higher intelligence that probably exists beyond our sphere; no doubt much more superior to us, in this century anyway, and in the next thousand or so. Imagine….the bible written

Imagine....the bible written with today's understandings of time, space, relativity, evolution. I'm always reminded of the *Planet of the Apes*, when the apes are quoting from their bible. Makes one think and say: hmmmmmmmmmmm. What if? ~A "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi

I Know Kail???

WoW!!! It's beyond imagination that one? I love Science Fiction. My favourite in the 1960’s was “Lost in Space”. I’m not a great lover of the modern ones where it’s more about fighting and conquering. I love the ones that leave us food for thought. I’ll never forget the first time “Planet of the Apes” was shown. I thought right up until they revealed the Statue of Liberty that they were on another planet. It still gives me a funny feeling in my stomach when he realised that he was on planet Earth in the future. I’ve watched all of “The Planet of the Apes” films many times and still love them, especially the first one. Thanks Kailashana. Xena

A great poem

And a wonderful subject some are forced to believe some choose and some dont even bother! from my own experience i have seen some bad things that make a person question the lord! if it is an exsistence why give pain but unfortunately you or i will never know why! i am a great believer in fate however! the most wonderful things in my life have happened from a reason of being! shirley harrison

It's scary sometimes...

I think that's why I'm a bit of a loner Shirley. I’m too serious about the meaning of life. I’m afraid to give too much of me for fear of having less then I already have. But for me, less is safer…Do you know what I mean? Thanks Shirley. Xena

What a perspective!

I like this very much... things we take for granted now, that would have made Jesus look like a "snake charmer" in his day! Imagine if the Bible is true, and he comes again... Even with technology, and what would have been considered miracles then. I wonder how (or if) will he be received? Very creative and insightful

Geeze Bob

You've certainly given us more food for thought. It would need to be some miracle to convince the people of today that he was Jesus eh! Thank you very much Xena

The bible tells us that when

The bible tells us that when Jesus died he shed his earthly body and had to take on a spirit body in order to get back into heaven - wherever that is - so in that sense he's definatley alien. He did things that humans can't recreate even in this technological age ie, bringing someone back from the dead, healing a mans withered hand etc, if nothing else he had an in depth knowledge of the natural laws of the universe and used his knowledge for the good of mankind not for the bad. Could the same be said of humans if they had the power that Jesus had? Just my opinion, enjoyed reading everyones comments. Love Mand xxxxx

You got it Mand

As we all know `alien` means, not of this world; so if we believe in Jesus then he couldn’t do anything to help this world and so, as the Bible said, “He died to save us”, so perhaps when we’re willing to listen and bring real peace to the world, the alien, aliens; will come back when we’re more advanced in the understanding of the Universe. Thanks Mand for lovely well appreciated valid comment. Xena

I am,

and have always been a non believer. How could any man ( GOD ) have so much power, and leave this world to morons who don't deserve. We the supposedly most intellegent of his creations, ripping each other, and the planet apart for a man made dream called wealth. How could he sit by and watch the nations with the most, scrape enough food into a bin that could save a village in some poor countries. No god like man could be so cruel as to watch, us waste so much water brushing our teeth, and bathing. While others die of thirst, ask yourself, if you had that power what would you use it for. I'm sorry Xena i tend to ramble, great and intresting writing again, Love roscoe...

Ramble right on Roscoe...

I'm hearing you loud and clear and agree. I never waste food. I freeze everything that can be frozen, bread, cheese, home-made soup etc; I make a big pot of food, place it all into portions and freeze them and that’s my dinner for several days. I never buy what I’m not going to eat. If I could change the world, I would make sure that no one ever went hungry, and would build a future for all mankind so that pain and suffering would be obliterated, but that will never be possible for any of us, rich or poor…sadly Roscoe…not in our lifetime. Maybe aliens will come to our rescue when we’re ready to be saved eh? Xena

Jesus, who was he?

Very interesting subject. I to have pondered that question and up to now I am still at it. But as one who embraces beauty, love, nature etc., imaging a creation without a Jesus - the bearer of hope, peace and happiness. I think its is hard to think of hope without Jesus. The day man turns away from engaging in low deeds and other characteristics such as greed, jealousy etc. - and stop thinking of them as natural, inmate - then there will be no need for a Jesus. Just like you I am just religious, but I think whether imagined or real he is needed and there is a place for him. Mankind itself have made it so!

You're so right Wilton

But imagine what it’s like for someone who has been brought up to follow instinct instead of teachings, which in reality most religious beliefs are taught. But in saying that, at the end of the day, you have to follow your heart. And for me, my heart and instinct tells me that I have a multitude of choices on what I believe, and I’m stumped??? In other words, I don’t have a clue if Jesus ever did exist, or if he was just a visitor from a distant world that is more advanced than us. But then again, if this is true, who’s to say that life on other planets, don’t also teach the Bible, which would mean that it has to have some truth if it’s taught outside our planet too??? The universe does raise a lot of questions, so I think Jesus is one of things that nearly everyone has thoughts about. Xena Quote: Science is what you know; philosophy is what you don't know. - Bertrand Russell
