Jacket

its what I saw
your form
so used to t shirt
democrats

something prime
your jacket snug
about you

a rare item chosen
on a day of extreme

there were mare tails
and lightening talking
and then you

like a vision risen

I could picture poetry on
napkins and gum wrappers
and your bill for storage
your half life still enclaved
by the metal moat

your proud face and eyes
made up

but I never did get to talk
to you in that smart get up

the sun was still shinning
burning the tops of the old
bricks rust red

your hair flashed red in
highlights and you were
gone

one more regret
but I wanted too

I can still see you
even now

Genius!

Seriously, I am in love with this poem! I love the writing style, but most of all, the feeling... I feel it. And it reminds me so much of Viggo Mortensen´s poetry - especially his writing style. He is my favourite contemporary poet. And I am not saying that your work is a "copy" (so to speak) of his. Not at all. You much probably haven´t even read his poetry. I say this in the best possible way. It´s a true compliment! http://restlesslittlesoul.webs.com

I could not agree more...

"I write in freeform in a way thats sometimes off board but in universal appeal I dont use punctuation and sometimes I dont try to make the ordinary word behave as ordinary word but make a noun a verb a syllable a pro noun etc it doestn matter its the art form the feeling that is evoked or aroused that is what poetry really is" It truly is! I never know what do with punctuaction. How to use it. I would rather use no punctuaction whatsoever, sometimes. I don´t waste too much time thinking about the technical aspects of poetry. I just focus on the feeling I want to convey... If you want, I can send you some of Viggo Mortensen´s poems. His books are are for sale on his own site http://www.percevalpress.com, and they are quite expensive, for they include the finest photography too. He is an amazing photographer, as well. Expensive but worth every cent! http://restlesslittlesoul.webs.com

Viggo

there is an actor too He Played in a cronenberg movie Eastern something or other Opulent costumes and dark seethings but a rather light ending through the drama a long time ago in "Witness" there too was a young actor I liked the poem about the jet plane This city there are many like chalk lines erring in correction to reverse the drift of the turning planet This is a major Northern airport The clock doesnt tic but blinks new meaning in a glow like a green Hum the television throws its notions the crazy plots and you sleep with your hands to your chin the cat huddled with its paws cuddled on your hip I have pockets with slips and enough change for the bus I will be motion and noise when you are sitting in a dream someplace our love is like a strand of the web where do we begin and where do we end the wind supple on our wants

The Road...

Watch Viggo in the movie The Road! The movie is heartwrenching, sublime, and his acting has never been better showcased! PS- Can you even not speak poetry? All of you is poetry. All of me is poetry, too, but you speak poetry better than I do. http://restlesslittlesoul.webs.com

so this is the man of the poet

I knew and yet I waited I so liked him in the movie I still want to watch THE ROAD I live with little sleep under rooms and in rooves watching living laughing with those that see in me the grit of good today I cleaned and set up tidied up and spoke with a low and careful voice with those I came into contact with the loose ends of my making I tailored sang along with the radio to songs on the station while I worked the plaster forms and sculpted with the tools and it rained like a great sigh pressing against my face like a sad lovers kiss I wanted to love the depth it came to me but I didnt I kept on my walk and got a ride from a freind so strange the transition is when we least expect it the gifts of the great interchange that happens when the whirl of minutes exact their mischeif I did not have time for coffee at my Twiggs but have found in an older Mall in my city a quiet very quiet place they were playing "zombie" an old zealous gem I love and I had my coffee drawing with my stainless pen faces and scenes like a small portrait study I am content to be frustrated as this alone with no pretty to talk with no poetry to write I am just beginning I think at this ancient age of forty five to start on a new embarkation of meaning and the poety is nothing without new connection new sharing of words I so am glad we have met and are writing it fills the sunshine of my day and moistens the raindrop wonder of dryness from my thoughts thank you ever so much Esker~
