You Don't Know Jack About It
Does the nursery rhyme portray
that having too many children
will actually cause someone to live in a shoe?
Or does it subtly imply
that after all, it does "take a village",
and the inevitable homeless shuffle is the new dawn?
Or, what the hell was wrong with young Jack?
What foriegn substance could betray a boy's logic,
by propelling him to extinguish a candle flame, with his own breeze?
If so, did he then cheat the death card, and narrowly escape a fire
to merely stare serendipity in the face,
win a date with Jill, just to end up breaking his own head?
Then, there was the time Jack,
declared that he was a good boy!
When he stuck his thumb in a pie, and pulled out a plum.
Was Jack merely an unruly child?
I think not; he was just an adventurer,
and he pushed everything to the limit.
You see, Jack was a proponent to the outcome of his own actions.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
He may be pushing the envelope, right now...in another world;
but, he owns that right.
you see, he earned it in this life,
by living it to it's very fullest, no matter what.
