SURPRISE VISIT
Well hello, and welcome friend !
step through the door and come on in
how long have you been back in town ?
had no idea you were around
Sit down and rest your weary feet
its been, how long, since our last meet ?
I'll be right back with a cold drink
perhaps you'd like some tea, I think
How have you been and what is new
tell all thats open to review
I'll fill you in whats up with me
where have you been, what did you see ?
And now that we're both up to date
and current with children and mate
we now can move to reminiscing
(excuse me now its time for pissing)
Do you remember how and when
and all the things we did back then ?
the things that made us laugh and cry
back in the days now passed us by
We'll recall youth, laugh at each blunder
(and are you still afraid of thunder ?)
talk of old friends, where did they stray
and ones who never went away
She married who ?she must be mad
he always was a callus lad
you say he's changed and gotten mellow
and nows a good and stand up fellow ?
Recalling how when back in school
we broke or stretched most every rule
and of games both won and lost
how little things in those days cost
Now both our voices have grown coarse
and mine is very nearly hoarse
so we'll just sit with quiet lips
and down our drink's last few cold sips
Too soon you say you have to go
back to parents' homeplace so
I'll usher you back to the door
for now of time we have no more
Its never inconvenient is it ?
theres always time for old friends' visit
step through the door and come on in
how long have you been back in town ?
had no idea you were around
Sit down and rest your weary feet
its been, how long, since our last meet ?
