she comes with a vision

i.

there,
in the velvet
blue of your eyes,
I submerge
myself,
rain falls softly
inside your sanctuary

ii.

she comes
with a vision
to an oasis of beauty
green mansions in a Lover's
gaze, I see myself,
lips plump with the taste
of strawberry kisses,
ripening.

iii.

there are speechless things

like glass-winged butterflies,
the way tall grass bends
across our fingertips
and the scent of banana nut bread baking
while you are sleeping,

before we leave this dream,
turning
away.

Scribbler, sides? I am on

Scribbler, sides? I am on the side of Palestinian & Jewish parents who work together so that no more children from either side are killed. I am on the side of young Israelis who refuse to be conscripted, I am on the side of the many Palestinians and Israelis who are friends and who mourn politics. I am on the side of poets, singers, musicians, artists, doctors, people of conscience who take no sides. ~A p.s. Did you see the film/documentary of a 12 yr old Palestinian boy who was killed in the West Bank, his organs donated and 6 Israeli lives saved/changed? Watch the *Heart of Jenin*. It's available on the net should you be interested. "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi

I’m always reminded of the

I'm always reminded of the father of Logotherapy, Victor Frankl. In his book *Man's Search for Meaning* he tells his story as a prisoner of Auschwitz. The one I remember most because it speaks to my poet heart, is his finding joy, a reason to live when he sees a flower growing in a crack in the concrete on a very cold spring day, there amoung horrific death, abject hopelessness. That simple flower, that moment in his life, that seeing changed his life and gave him meaning. There's always a flower growing, even if in our memory. ~ "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi

Barry asked “how can

Barry asked "how can anyone write too much?" My answer is that I have no other outlet for art; I do not draw or paint, play an instrument, sing, or design beautiful buildings, capture the exquiste moments with photography. All my eggs are in one basket, so to speak. And I find it a challenge; I challenge myself when words seem to fail. Yesterday's poem was taken from current events & titles of poems that were posted here... and then give new life. I love my own self-imposed mystery. How when & if will the words come to Anna today? Sometimes I am silent until I erupt in a new voice. Thanks for asking, Jess. ~A "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi

I love this, I love this, I love this oh Anna, oh my sister!

Ann of Norway I love this, I love this ,I love this oh Anna, oh my sister specially many bits:- "in the velvet
 blue of your eyes,
I submerge" "rain falls softly
inside your sanctuary"...........OOOOOO this is.....! "lips plump with the taste
 of strawberry kisses,
ripening." ...........................OOOOOOOO sensuous sister. "the way tall grass bends
across our fingertips".............love this I see it over logs after Winter too. Today I saw in the woods, not really relevant!!!! But I saw dead grasses that were just up to a slight rise in a rock, they were pruned y the wear and tear of passing feet and hooves. After Winters snow there are many fallen logs wrapped in grasses they look like presents tied up well, I send one to you Anna, in the imagination, wrapped round a flat pressed little tree trunk piece, that looks like a holy parchment, something for you to read in your own special manner as only you can. Love comes with the scent of the lilies of the valley that fill the woods now just nearby, the air is filled with it and one feels renewed and alive. Anniuska. XXOOXXX

What a difference in climes!

What a difference in climes! The lilies of the valley are but a memory.. they were finished late April this year with the early Spring. Alive. More of than not, it's not nature that makes us feel alive, but emotional drama. Love always rises above that. Lovely, lovely as always beautiful Anna... I have a card in my bathroom above the mirror, it remind me that we could love ourselves the way we wish to love others... I read such lush & tender love in your poems, it seems much more challanging to offer ourselves such fecund love than we seem to bleed forth for others... I feel you'd understand this... But reading this, I wish for you that blessing, for loving like your own to be gifted to you. Mmmmmm, banana nut bread, what a sweet & tranquil dream & a luscious poem. Hurrah for spotlight! xxx Cheers Anni~ "Three passions have governed my life: The longings for love, the search for knowledge, And unbearable pity for the suffering of [humankind]." Bertrand Russell

Thank you, warrior woman

Thank you, warrior woman (how I loved that show!). One of the first films I saw as a member of my Middle East Peace Forum was the Israeli bulldozing & uprooting of centuries-old and generations-long olive groves in occupied territories in Palestine. I wept along with the displaced. Olive trees live for hundreds of years and according to scientific findings some actually are 1600 to 2000 yrs old. Quite possibly where Jesus walked. I digress. That quote is hope itself. ~ "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi

Like I said Kailashana...

Beautiful words that generate hope for all of us. You're a true artist in what's real in life. I just survive, wrong I know, but I'm weak, not strong like you and I admire that in a person. Most people think of me as simple, but I’m far from that, just lost in a world that’s too big for me. Xena

What you wrote above is true

What you wrote above is true poetry. Xena. Perfect. sometimes only beautiful words generate hope life is the artist of truth, sometimes I just survive weak not strong like you, I am not simple as you would think, far from that, just lost in a world that's too big for me. Dear Xena, when I admitted my vulnerability, my absolute vulnerability and fallibility, when all the walls came down, life became truth and I was no longer lost, though I lose myself in it, time and time again. Much love, Anna "Even if I knew the world were to end tomorrow, I would plant an olive tree today."-- Francis of Assisi

Geeze Anna

You just created a heartfelt poem from my words, now that’s what I call genius; a true artist. You’ve given me an idea for a new poem. But I need to put more thought into it; as I tend to write rather quickly, with thought, of course, but not precision. Thank you Kailashana, you’re a real Gem. Xena
