Absolute
it was after a viewing,
I felt you
the first time,
the essence of you
lingered
in the smile
of that baby
the second
lights had gone out
and men in black
stood on stones
of silence,
your odour
wafted
the years have passed
and our ships
have crossed course
more frequently
making an indelible
impression
you have been insistent
wanting my attention
but cold is the shoulder
bearing into,
this stiff westerly
I do not scream
I do not curse the stars
why? because I cannot deny
one day our eyes
will meet
and nothing I do
will change
the
inevitable
