My Immortality

My soul, my spirit,
My immortality,
Past all the years and ages,
Will be what remains of me,

The being beneath the surface,
Of an ever aging face,
The entity within the eyes,
That behold my lover's grace,

The ghost I give up,
When my time is done,
Shall move into a brighter day,
In the presence of the Son,

For I know more,
Pertains to me,
Beyond flesh and bone,
My immortality,

I searched here for an answer,
And found it, you see,
The reason my spirit outlasts this body,
The purpose for, my immortality,

Is to fellowship,
And abide with my Lord,
It is this blessing,
I was created for,

So when I am gone,
Do not weep for me,
For He has prepared a place,
And there I shall be,

Always and forever,
For all eternity,
It is Jesus who secures the existence,
Of my immortality,

Through His gift and my acceptance,
I was guaranteed,
Blessed passage into His kingdom,
The heaven awaiting, my immortality.

Dear Shane

I always say to have faith is a great thing because it gives you hope that there is more to us than just life and death...Nice write Shane. Just one thing with this line... {Permittince} into His kingdom, ……… I don’t think this is a proper word? How about something like………… [sanction] Xena

Thank You

Thank you both for the comments. Thank you Xena for the advice on my wording. I was trying to figure out a word to go there. I try not repeat words unless necessary in my poetry so I comprised one out of fantasy that really doesn't go well:) .Thank you for noticing and the suggestion.
