Between Vandals and Gentlemen

when a woman gives the first date she takes small rabbit bites over dinner the veil of her polo shirt has been considered with technology now nipples have no secret digital scenarios with lithe bodied women competing for flavored fuckability and always availiable oh these jpeg girls anorexia is on sale we like our women starving begging for meat choose them in mud- wrestling or scarlet panties even two playing at a time order now. i saw a girl mount a bubble gum jar in an ad ready to earn and spoil ready for the next opheliac dear, we capitalize on our women in the age of prom night virginity GHB and silicone when a woman orchestrates a first date that feminist boogey dance she avoids his locked up chevy or the ghost towns of unlit parking lots and remembers the favorite Valentines of our era: Bundy was a charmer

Yes, he was that. I would

Yes, he was that. I would have gone out with him. So much has changed and so little is new. Weird poem of how it is/was but, of course, I like it. ~ "Just as what you dream is your own and no one else can observe it, so the world you see is your own." ~ Nisargadatta

Dear WT

You are one of my favourites here ... this poem is on a whole different level again, in my opinion nothing to crit bravo love JayCee ("Quote:-For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.-Ivan Panin")

My feelings exactly

But you know, Bundy went for the young, skinny, pretty girls too. Love your controversial current issue poetry. Only one tiny critique: 4.4: "availiable" --> 'available' Kelsey

at first glance it seems bitter

I was talking to one of my closest friends recently, shes very tiny but sometimes feels pressured by the types of girls her boyfriend is around. The dieting itself is not exactly unhealthy yet but honestly I don't know much tinier she can get. I became very angry at how accepting she is of him physically and personally in comparison to what she is met with, shes not mistreated, really just the average american relationship. In the same conversation we had talked about when we found out different past boyfriends watched porn and how common it is these days. She has been writing papers against violent rape based games in Japan and really I guess we've been bouncing these topics around for a while. I did see an ad with a girl wrapping her legs around a candy machine followed by several other pictures within the same photoshoot. Normally things of that nature don't bother me and I welcome sexual expression and statements etc. Yet it seemed so bizarre and male oriented and really it was hard to explain but it hit me that women are expected to be much more competitive than men are expected to be in order to be acceptable and attractive. Anyway, long bit of stuff that I threw in just now... Thanks Kelsey.

The Double Standard

still reigns. I had a conversation with my twin brother (fraternal, of course) about a similar/the same topic just last night. I wanted to know what goes through his brain when he first meets a girl, any girl. Or what happens when he has progressed to getting to know her more. Like what drives him to take the relationship from "We've been introduced" or "We are acquainted" to "we're getting to know each other" or "we're hanging out on Friday". He says that when a guy (and I suppose this is a generalized statement) first meets a girl he looks at one or two specific things and automatically decides if he would sleep with her or not. For my brother it's her face/hair. If she has clear skin (or is wearing make up that makes it look like she has clear skin) and takes good care of her hair he instantly knows he would let this conversation/relationship progress. Next he wants to 'check out the goods'. He gets a peek at her chest and her butt, and if they are to his liking, he knows he would progress this conversation/relationship further still. I don't know where along the lines he decides if he'd sleep with them. I do know that if he doesn't like their body, he's not going to become friends with them. He loses interest in them the split second he doesn't like their hair/skin/ta-tas/tail. He also knows that he wants her "goods" to be big and real and it's less likely that he's going to get a girl with a tiny waist/thighs who also has natural big boobs/butt. So he is more accepting of bigger girls, but he's still just as shallow as the next guy, still thinking with his penile head rather than the one attached to his neck. *sigh* Kelsey

Penile is a new word for me!

Ann of Norway What a good word to describe itself! Dear Kelsey, this is ....well I cannot say lovely, now can I, but the spicy feeling of the nibbling at food and the nervous twitches of the words and senses, gives it an atmosphere that is provocative of the banal view of dating, the norm maybe, but then the girls who respond to THEM are not looking for more than THAT don't you think? It takes two..... but then I am not so young and not IN at the moment, so I probably wouldn't know what I was talking about heh? All I know is that I thoroughly enjoyed your poem here and find it potently interesting and well said. As to seeing 'porn' I have never indulged in that, not out of disgust, well unless it is vulgar, but I am far more interested in the real thing, than any substitute dolls for my excitement. Sigh ....when I can find the one that inspires my whole self, that is. I can't say I was so VERY worried about what I looked like, but then I was lucky to be 'normal'/ordinary and the fact that I wasn't a stunning blondine, or whatever was the THING to be in my youth, I was innately( inderlig-inside me N.) pleased that I wasn't, as they have a tough life, those very very attractive people, and can be taken at face value, instead of being taken for themselves. Love from Ann. Some lovely bits of description too!

With Bundy it was a thin,

With Bundy it was a thin, dark haired girls (I guess I was blond and therefore did not fit his profile), with Richard Ramirez, it was any female between the ages of 6 to 83... But the point of your poem is frightening on so many levels. A couple of days ago, I joked with Barry that he (or I) could have been an axe murderer. Not much has changed even though the majority of relationships are made over the net and often enough the consequences are not good, especially for young girls who are seeking a *father* relationship and our too often sexual physically but immature emotionally. And the internet stalkers take their time in fostering a *relationship*. Seems that their only prerequisite is availability. ~A "Just as what you dream is your own and no one else can observe it, so the world you see is your own." ~ Nisargadatta

powerful poem

I like this poem as I like your poetry you have the clarity and skillful hand to guide the reader through the trauma and debris the beauty and benign and still give the mystery at the fringes that rustles like wind in dark storm hours
