Everyone's got a story to tell

Great granddad sits in pain
His teeth where driving him insane
He had four rotten ones taken out
Nearly gave the dentist a clout.

Granddad’s in pain with his knee
So I got him a cup of tea
His arthritis is hurting his bones
When he gets up he creaks and groans.

Son’s in pain with his kidneys
Blood in the toilet when he pees
Lays on the bed to try and recoup
He’s feeling rough but has some soup.

Grandson lays on the settee
I’m in a lot of pain said he
His throat is fiery, swollen and sore
He’s had tonsillitis before.

Daughter says that she’s in pain
She’s got a dilemma again
Something to do with womanly things
P.M.T and fickle mood swings.

I’m not in physical pain
I’ve just got an overworked brain
My heart is beating at such a rate
My head is starting to oscillate.

It seems we’re all under strain
Taking tablets to ease the pain
Everyone’s got a story to tell
I imagine you have as well.

Hello Scribbler, your words

Hello Scribbler, your words are so true, my father-in-law lives with us he is 84 and has alot of things wrong with him it's horrible to hear him groaning in pain everyday but somehow he manages to stay cheerful. I don't know but I would guess that our family is typical of the westernised culture, we live in a world full of sickness. We are all in the same boat so at least we can empathise with each other. Thanks for commenting Keep safe Love Mand xxx

Love to you must to bed now, from Ann

Ann of Norway Oh what fun Mand and yet definitely not!!! Bother the pains, they come and go and we all get them, some never get rid of them, but the here you are a mum and being so are there for them all and that can make you head go in a spin I can imagine, and when men are illl, oh wow how they are the edge of death, even for the slightest chill, they are helpless and can't do anything, so we just have to keep going don't we. Never having the same excuse and let them do all the chores; a very few men are helpful there and they can surprise one. In fact I think the modern young men are much more helpful in the house and do things too, after all we have to be there don't we, on all occasions at the ready. I am naughty I haven't been a mum so I didn't have that to contend with, spoilt. Love to you must to bed now, from Ann

Hello Ann, it's great to hear from you and thanks for taking the time to comment. It's six thirty in the morning everyone's asleep. This week I am surrounded by my family and it's lovely wheather - what more could I ask. Today I will be taking my grandchildren to the local country park - Llyn-llech-owain. We're going to do some pond dipping. I am surrounded by my family most of the time, last friday everything I described in the poem was happening and I wondered if this was typical of all families, I think it probably is. I have to say my husband is helpful - in a manly sort of way - we work as a team, couldn't ask for a better husband, he is really really good with his dad who isn't well at all - I feel a poem comming on here -. Sorry I haven't commented on your work yet, I'll get round to it evetually. Love to you From Mand xxx

Hello Shirley, really really nice to see you back! I've got a smile all over my face. I felt guilty about posting the bean poem, I was afraid it was insulting to you so I took it off. I wish I was a Welsh beauty!! Anyway it is soooo nice to see you back, looking forward to reading some of your poems.. Lots of Love Mand xxxxx

Hello Judy, it’s really

Hello Judy, it's really lovely to hear from you. Lol. He had 4 rotten teeth and had to wait for 8 months before he could have them taken out - it was that long because of the hospital waiting list -. He had to have them taken out in hospital because he has a bad heart and a crash team needed to be on hand. A few days after writing the poem my grandson fell of a swing and had to have 4 stitches in his head. You never know what's going to happen!!! Thanks for commenting Judy. Love Mand xxxx P.s What happened to our bud Mr Crud?

Hi Mand

You're always so good at giving everyone great comments, including myself, that when I go to your page to find a new post I find you haven’t posted one, thinking that I’d already commented on you last one, but found that I haven’t commented on this one, sorry I should’ve checked, but I’m here now. WoW, this is a lot of family troubles for you. I never really knew my grandparents, only one for a short time as she died when I was in my early teens. But it seems to me that I thought I had troubles, but, self inflicted, selfish ones, but you dear Mand, you are a very caring loving lady to look after your elders like you do. You should feel proud. x Xena

Thanks for your kind

Thanks for your kind comments Xena. I meet a lady the other day whose husband is seriously ill, she has to spend alot of her time running up and down to the hospital ( about 10 miles away ). when he was operated on he caught the disease that eats your flesh, on top of that her niece recently moved in with her - who had tried committing suicide - I can't even imagine the stress she's going through. After hearing her story I count myself lucky. Everyone's got problems we just do the best we can and take each day as it comes. I hope you are o.k Rosina, Keep your chin up and thanks for taking the time to comment. Love mAND.XXX
