FOR FALLEN SOLDIERS
Now lets take a day to pause
remembering those who died for cause
in fighting battles they deemed just
let not their memories turn to dust
The ones who fought to save our way
of life we honor on this day
those stalwart men who answered call
are owed a debt by one and all
Brave warriors who gave their life
in defense of home and wife
and brought about an evolution
in government by revolution
We shall heap praise on grey and blue
who in defense of all they knew
gave for both sides the final measure
their sacrifices we should treasure
The doughboys who once fought for
the end of tyranny and war
they died by thousands in the trenches
amid the mud and all the stenches
We'll remember those who stormed the beaches
in Europe and far eastern reaches
while upholding freedom's flag
but kept silent (they'd never brag)
In Korea and Vietnam
where most of us gave not a damn
still they answered country's call
they did their best and gave their all
And in the wars against Hussien
volunteers went forth again
to save an ally he'd invaded
then his own people he'd degraded
In all these battles (and some unknown)
our debt of gratitude has grown
so don't let your thoughts too far stray
from those remembered on this day
remembering those who died for cause
in fighting battles they deemed just
let not their memories turn to dust
The ones who fought to save our way
of life we honor on this day
those stalwart men who answered call
are owed a debt by one and all
Brave warriors who gave their life
in defense of home and wife
and brought about an evolution
in government by revolution
We shall heap praise on grey and blue
who in defense of all they knew
gave for both sides the final measure
their sacrifices we should treasure
The doughboys who once fought for
