Judgement

Whenever lust erupts within
the fabric of my dreams
and stains my soul with wicked words
of post-erotic screams

I stutter my confession
before the God of sin
repenting of the blasphemies
my mind has wallowed in

thus cleansing from my consience
the knowledge that I lied
while praying in that vestibule
where lambs are crucified

and the essence of my laughter
though denying what was said
rings from wall and rafter
even after I am dead

well-crafted

A well crafted poem Lonnie (as usual)...however, I detect the catholic guilt-thing over your sexual desires. As the previous commentator mentioned...if we are condemed by the content of our dreams, I'm currently on level 3 of Dante's levels of Hell! Ells x

I am going to assume

that that whole first stanza was Lonnie using his expert skills to say "wet dream" without actually saying it. HEHEHE! 3.2: "knowledge" isn't sitting quite right with me. I think 'notion' or 'idea' would work (I'm still not grasping this meter thing). Perhaps even 'reason', but that would change the meaning of that line. I think "knowledge" sounds a little off when read aloud, that's all. Strangely though, it doesn't seem to have that same issue when read silently. "in that vestibule/ where lambs are crucified" --> wow... just. wow. ;) Kelsey
