Something has to be declared

You know what happened to what you once declared
So don't even start telling me I had not cared

Facing me, convinced you don't love me
For I'd be better of if only I could see
That there's no future, and no it will never be
I remain wonderin' about reasons just to disagree

Unable to see what has happened to you
Not gettin' what it is you're trying to do

Against all odds, once again, you're standing outside my door
Blessing me with the inability to understand why or what for
We're gettin' closer, closer and so much more
Foolishly I form again, that, which isn't to adore

Well aware that you will be taking it away
No matter how right the things I say

You expect me to believe there ain't no reason why?
Everytime I try asking about yours when kissing me good-bye
A flash of honesty evokes this all too familiar sigh
So I give in, continuing to live the almost perfect lie

By now we have gotten sort of used to it
Yet the truth does eat away bit by bit

Thoughts, my punishment for being down so low
Friends gloating knowing they have told me so
I wish it already were really long ago
Instead time takes pleasure in passing way too slow

To be put simple it seems unreal
Misleading is the tension we both feel

Refusing to believe, that the closer we get
The more you feel the need to leave me upset
Thinking it will prevent you from feeling regret
Meanwhile I stand here, a stranger, like on the day we first met

Now that you know that I have always cared
I'm telling you that something has to be declared

Hello

Nice to meet you. This poem has a different flavor that what I have read lately, therefore I find it unique. With these lines: Now that you know that I have always cared I’m telling you that something has to be declared I think they would read more smoothly as: Now that you know I have always cared I’m telling you something has to be declared Just a suggestion, Always, Cat
