draw the bath
here is bright light
the watt bulbs glare
and blue tint water crawls slowly from
the spouts release
steam wishs on the mirror
and the window just draw up
a touch
there is meditation in the flow
how far the travel from boiler
the copper jacket tubing
the solder twisted in by the
torchs breath
how far
years crawl and flit like
bats on the wing
I feel your hot scar tears
and they sting
your hurt your ache
I cradle
stroking the fine hair
the demons howl
and you huddle on the bed
and the water roars from the
chrome mouth
climb this hot pool
in enamel crave
the wave reciprocal pattern
dances from resistance
to resistance
its a wavelength
and the faucet drips
the condensation running
steam whirls sucked out
the window the blue bruise
of night is stealing
settle settle
the water rises
and gurgles from the
over fill
the heat like a heartbeat
soothing
the salts dissolving
the drip loud and echoeing
soft clean towels on the rack
and television talking in the
room
the linen coated pillows
the glamour of the glass
with curtian drawn
the chair waiting
I retreat while air conditioning
rumbles
your long hair
your histories
like mermaid roots
the miles line my face
and this heat
ages all the breaks
and scars
and Venus rises like
a flare
she dares
poignant beauty
and the echoes of footsteps
down the hall
close to door to vivid dreams
