Silent screams for respect: hear her pain

none of us
will see the next century
none of us
will see the next dimension

why should we care?

but they feel it
the em-paths,
the watchers, the light,
of creation

its coming, change
arrives on broken wings,
and flies past
as the world
peels off her layers.

she reveals herself
to be in torment
and we parasites
go about our
everyday life

ignoring her screams
for our mercy

so if I the poet?
can draw attention
to her plight

I will scream
I will curse
I will burn effigy of
every god known to man

its time to notice
its time to take action

I will scream
a thousand poems
I will cry
a million tears

until the wash
of my sound
is heard

WoW JayCee

I know exactly what you're saying here. To be honest, I'm glad I won't be here in the next century. If we’re as bad as we are now, gosh, what’s it going to be like in the future! Unless there is such a thing as reincarnation, then we could come back and make a difference. Rosina xena465

Rosie … in a hundred years

Rosie ... in a hundred years my words wont even be remembered but maybe if I make people wake up and take notice now ? there will be a world for my grandkids and their kids ;) theres a method to my madness lmao and one passion of mine is saving this rock we call home love JayCee x x x ("Quote:-For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.-Ivan Panin")

Re: JayCee

The fact that you have grandkids, they'll have kids, so on and so on, you'll never be forgotten...that I know. They will share your poetry throughout this century and the next. Because you share wisdom in everything you write, with a heart that has felt the good things in life and the bad and this will be passed on as part of you forever. Rosina xena465

I used to care about being

I used to care about being remembered Rosie ... but these days i will be happy if I am remembered faintly ... that will do me ... thats a beautiful thing to say though hun ... made in a thousand sighs of memories, I wish but most of us pass by without even a bleep on the radar ...and thats ok with me too .. I wish for just enough and thats all that matters ... surviving is a feat ;) love JayCee ("Quote:-For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.-Ivan Panin")

Wow

Wow this is my favorite poem I have seen since I have been here. I think we are wrecking the world and no one seems to care. I think it is the job of the poet to scream from the roof top that this is wrong. this is the best my friend, the best

this subject is one i am

this subject is one i am most pasionate about, and you have presented it in such an eloquent manner it takes so very little to make a difference, but it seems to be such a hard lesson for so many to learn. laziness? lack of care? i know there are many who do all, and more than what they can, but i fear there are more who do nothing for you seren... the one and only sonnet i have ever written (form poetry and me...oil and water) i was challenged by a poet friend (another site) who knows i'm not a fan of form...he expected a lovey-dovey, flowery, traditional sonnet this is what he got... Cry the Earth The troubled sea sent out an anguished cry a summoning of depth and passion deep, it stayed the gulls that floated through the sky, and woke a lazy sun from restful sleep. Its echoing was heard across the land where farmer tilled the soil with beaded brow, the noise he heard brought fear, and stilled his hand, then settled on his back, as though a cowl. A mother held her crying baby tight its laughing play disrupted by the sound that carried on its journey into night, to rumble over rock, and under ground The cry was one of sorrow for the earth, how man so selfishly, discards her worth. .......... i hope many read your worthy poem seren, and heed your message brava p

Dear P

thank you for sharing your sonnet ... it is worthy in its own right ... I love the planet I am one of those people sitting in the dark looking and pondering at the universe but i can say our planet is sooo soooo beautiful I just hope we dont kill it before its too late ... We sit on the arse end of the earth and its not always pleasant but its home and we have to try and save her? love and hugs Jayne ("Quote:-For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. screams

I think back to where we were environmentally 40 years ago and thank God we began changing then.If we can bring about as much change in next 40 years, we'll be alright.Of course change does not occur without people being willing to keep "cause"in public eye.Great message.......scribbler

Hear her pain...

I had a friend years ago, whom I never considered as being too awfully intellectual. We were talking about some local pollution, when he said to me:[ We are nothing more than fleas on Mother Nature, and one of these days, she is gonna give a big shake, and get rid of us all. I don't know what makes mankind think that he is any better than any of the other species that has gone extinct, when their environment has changed too much for them to survive. Our population is growing too fast, and we are killing the trees that are the lungs of the world, at a tremendous rate, while we pollute the air.] I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised. He has been a hunter and out-doorsman all his life, and seen many of his favorite spots for fishing and hunting spoiled by deforestation, and sullied streams and rivers. I loved your lines, that reminded me of him: "She reveals herself to be in torment, and we parasites go about our everyday life". I would change the word [life] for [lives] because the [we] makes it plural. ~ Higgest bugs, and lotta love, ~ Gee

Late to the party

Hi JC, As usual you say the most profound things so elegantly and with crafted vocabulary that just cuts to the heart of the message. When you have children it's even more important to try to create an environment, a legacy to pass on isn't it? Love your words... Lots of love, Ells xx
