Riding the zephyr

Wild zephyr winds shape me

my horizons open

making a commotion

illuminating the sublime

complete the notion

Hear not what stands in the way

Ignite the pyre’s

setting many fire’s

reaching throughout all time

feeling hot desire

Almost doesn’t even count

Its self we bring

happy for just being

never doubt the rhyme

as we set to wing

Tetrameter, to be unrhymed.

Trimeter

Trimeter

Trimeter +1 carries through from each stanza, to lace them altogether.

Trimeter I kind of over rhymed here with a third, to offer balance the first non rhyming lines.

Repeated by 3 to honor the tri theme, same with 3 stanzas and uneven number of lines.

Since this was not supposed to be a designed meter, and a non established meter, and I am a newbie at understanding meter over things such a syllable count and rhyme scheme. I did start each stanza with a line that I did not rhyme, to stand out. Then created a rhyme scheme to follow. Untraditional of coarse, so although felt…. New, it did I did tons of homework, worked for over a week. But still claim to know very little and know I still have MUCH to learn. I believe that even if not perfect though I did honor the intent of contest and learned TONS!

To clarify subject, riding the zephyr, as in warm westerly winds. Which I translate in to writing poetry and taking risks as well as trying to convey the euphoric feeling that my poetry can inspire, for me personally of coarse.

I have also just realized the versatality of the poem, you can read each line through the stanza's, so 1.1.,2.1,3.1 then 1.2,2.2,3.2 etc, etc. Reads great! How fun!

Wow, do I even want to know what next month is going to have me do? Yes I do!

True, but we will both get better. I learned all about the differant kinds iambic, etc, but labeling them myself, felt odd. And I was unsure. Thanks Kelsey, Julie D.D.

Brilliant Julie

Great write. I'll never understand meter and such-like. If I did, I imagine it would make all the difference to my poems. Just look at what it creates in you...perfection. Rosina xena465

great effort, and truly interesting, innovative form,

just one line bothered me- reaching all of the time how about reaching throughout all time still fits your metric pattern Cheers, Jess, Reprehensibly irrepressible, "the alleged short-cut to knowledge, which is faith, is only a short-circuit destroying the mind." [Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged]
