It was here in lines
much like these
that I found
a girl I used to be

a journey in words
that has been
extraordinary

I started out
a perfectly good
shell of a woman

I was
a blank sheet
that floated
the breeze

along the way
finding the spirit
to breath life
until the cypher
was revealed,
to be writing
the story
of a life

mine

no longer a parody
no further away
from who I was

could I be

I sometimes get lost,
but the girl
reawakens
to remind me

who I am

I loved your poem ,it touched me in deep this link for an Arabic poem ,translated in to English language. the title :WORDS written by my favorite:Nizar Qabani http://www.adab.com/en/modules.php?name=Sh3er&doWhat=shqas&qid=127 I would like you to read it. These are some lines: He lets me listen, when he moves me, Words are not like other words He takes me, from under my arms He plants me, in a distant cloud And the black rain in my eyes Falls in torrents, torrents with respect MONA

So very glad you enjoyed this one it was one I wrote a little while back and last night I finished it .... the poem you shared is just beautifully inspiring for me I copied the whole poem to here because I think its just wonderful He lets me listen, when he moves me, Words are not like other words He takes me, from under my arms He plants me, in a distant cloud And the black rain in my eyes Falls in torrents, torrents He carries me with him, he carries me To an evening of perfumed balconies And I am like a child in his hands Like a feather carried by the wind He carries for me seven moons in his hands and a bundle of songs He gives me sun, he gives me summer and flocks of swallows He tells me that I am his treasure And that I am equal to thousands of stars And that I am treasure, and that I am more beautiful than he has seen of paintings He tells me things that make me dizzy that make me forget the dance and the steps Words...which overturn my history which make me a woman...in seconds He builds castles of fantasies which I live in...for seconds... And I return...I return to my table Nothing with me... Nothing with me...except words. ________________ Translated by Diaa Hadid thanks for the read and the comment but thanks most of all for sharing poetry is a gift that should be passed on love and hugs Jayne-Chloe x x x ("Quote:-For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it.-Ivan Panin")

..your life as if tattooed onto your skin

Ann of Norway " I was a blank sheet that floated the breeze" Although I am sure you have never been a blank sheet, I love this picture of you as such a floating unwritten being, and then, oh no Ann stop, but I shan't, I can then see the story of your life as if tattooed onto your skin, and you end up so beautifully decorated, we read your poems as you turn and turn in the breezes of life's patterns and are in awe of their potency and passion. We hear your voice from the different periods of your life, with the Operatic arias resounding as you turn, as you turn, as you turn, like some magic wheel of sound, the sound of the rhythm of the read aloud poems fills the air with a special enchantment that will not be forgotten, ever. You entertain our minds Jayne every time you write, thank you, and much love to you from Ann.

I was a blank sheet of paper at one time ... I just had to find her, me, us again it was a long journey that my writing has brought near to full circle .. that operatic part of me can never die ... you know I write every poem with some sort of instrumental music playing in the headphones so its not unusual that you find a rhythm its there when I write it ... the music in my veins now there is another poem lol ... but you always see where I am going and for that I can never thank you enough ... to be understood ? is a gift from a friend ... and your that and more I so often wish you lived on this side of the planet love you dearheart Jayne-Chloe x x x ("Quote:-For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. Hey JayCee

I've decided to just write a poem only when I'm really in the mood, perhaps every few days or so. This gives me more time to read and comment on more than just my buddy's poems and I've found that this is helping me to write a little better myself. Rosina xena465

Dear Jayne

my favorite verse: I sometimes get lost, but the girl reawakens to remind me funny how that happens, isn't it? I love the print that you used as an avatar! I have three of his prints in my bedroom and one in the downstairs hall. I love the way you jewel boxed it. Love, Cat

Just found this Gem, the

Just found this Gem, the poems we write are very close to us arn't they, each poem we write is a bit like a building block of our character revealing to others and ourselves who we are. Poetry is journey of self exploration. Lovely write. Love Mand xxxx

Dear Jayne

I love this discovery of your true self, the only thing I would say is, the third stanza does'nt flow so well, you could say ' I started out with a perfectly good basis, for me.' or not feel free to ignore me, only a suggestion. love lou xx

i like it!!! :)

i like the way it tells a story about some one who has seemingly lost themselves but in truth they're still the same person they were and just need something to help them realize it.those are my favorite types of poems the kind where it tells a message that more than just the author can relate to.I've lost myself a lot and I'm still in the process of figuring out who I'm supposed be.so this is why I LIKE IT!!!!!!:)
