My Weeping Willow

My weeping willow

I have heard the song

Coming from your heart

I know you have been hurt

I know the cuts are so deep

That a life time

Is just not enough time

To fully heal

I know you have been an island

An island in the middle of the sea

But no more my love

You are no longer alone

Alone in your pain

I have seen the secret rooms

In your cave

And I am not afraid

I am holding a light for you

Take my hand

Walk with me

Shed your chains

Dance in the breeze

I loved these lines:

know the cuts are so deep That a life time Is just not enough time To fully heal That is life's tragedy eloquently put. I like your uncluttered use of language and think the images are appropriate and that you have a moving poem overall. My only complaint is all the changeing imagery. You're a tree, now you're an island, now you're in a cave. It jumps around a little too much for me. I prefer one strong image/metaphor worked fully through. Good job.

I would hold the light for my Lady too. While she chops the firewood. Take Care. huey
