Smooth Silk Like Satin

Sifting through the flour
smooth, silk like satin
softens the hands
toiled of baking

sweet scents around
a kitchen full of sounds
sifting through the flour
smooth, silk like satin

kneading the dough
smoothing it out
memories of young, Daddy
making pizza for us all

special nights long ago
gone but not forgotten
sweet memories of young
once more, come again

in the silkened flour
like the dusted sands
together forever
holding those hands

Baker's delight

Having made bread I thoroughly identified with the sensual expression of the process. Even more important is the link, of sight and smell of the important times. Very evocative. thank you William "Papa" Meloney

I love bread/pizza

I can't have my dinner without a slice of bread, I can't bake it myself, but I do love the smell of fresh baking bread...Lovely images Mona...I've just had a chicken sandwich for my breakfast. It was lovely. Zak had some of it too. Rosina xena465

I love this

there are a couple of things about this that go to my heart. first is the kitchen. in my house sometimes I stand in the kitchen and look out my kitchen window and see whats going on in my world today. my kitchen window faces the road in front of my house. and then about thinking back on good times that stick with you. very nice writing my friend

Smooth as silk, lovely

Smooth as silk, lovely description of what it feels like to put your hands in flour, it's soft and cool to the touch. Those home made pizzas shared with the family must have been wonderful. You've given me a lovely image. Thanks Mona Love Mand xxx
