Stab

Stab a life and
it will bleed;
did you believe
The Mother we call Earth
was any different?

You know Her
blood is toxic
you understood
and knew the risks
yet still you stabbed Her
to generate more wealth
more ease of living,
more customers.

What a pity
your sick desire for
ease of life
does not extend
to Life itself.

Nope

Not out of my system yet. It will be...when I see some BP executives picking up their filthy crude oil from our beaches and marshes with their bare hands. It might get out of my system then. But I seriously doubt it. Thanks Rosina, Respectfully Jim "Laws and rules don't kill freedom: narrow-minded intolerance does" : Race

It couldn't have been said better!

Powerful, truthful, and wickedly concise! This poem screams for our attention to the problem of Global Excessiveness! Great, great piece of poetry!

Thanks man,

As I wrote this, I kept wondering how many oil executives were sitting beside the heated pool outside their multi-million dollar mansions, sipping iced tea, watching the annihilation of the Gulf Coast on 52-inch screens while their stock bonuses reach into the billions, entire species die, and tens of thousands of citizens are being made destitute. I am a capitalist, dyed-in-the-wool, and even I cannot believe the sheer unadulterated greed of these creatures.
