Peach Flesh

Ripe Peach burnished with dew
blush caressing a sensuous globe
of plump flesh

Nibble puckered skin and expose
soft golden tissue oozing nectar
that dribbles down the chin

Devour, guzzle, and consume each bite
oh the pleasure and delight
as you probe the depths within

Almond shaped stone laid bare,
upon the plate glistening with the
sweet residue

Hi Lou

It's only been a few hours. I've always found that if you read more of other people's poems, especially the poets that appreciate a comment from you, will come to your page. I read lots of poems and comment a lot, but sometimes some poets don’t even acknowledge my comment. This isn’t very polite. So what I’ve always done is stick with the poets that are kind and considerate and helpful. Kelsey has left you a lovely comment, you should reply to thank her. The same goes for everyone who takes the time to read and comment. Rosina xena465

oh Lou,

now I'm hungry! I think the imagery here is superb! I don't think I've ever seen anyone able to describe something so messy so beautifully! If I could suggest anything, it would be to adjust 3.1. I like the word "guzzle" so much, I think it should stand alone, instead of being surrounded by synonyms. And of course, 'Guzzle each bite' might not be what you're looking for with that line, it's just a humble suggestion. :) Kelsey

Mouth watering!

Mouth-watering images and a good structure to boot. Like Ziggy, I like this stanza the best: Devour, guzzle, and consume each bite oh the pleasure and delight as you probe the depths within kindest regards, HS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "With all that I am and all that I could be, I walk this earth and yet nobody sees me".
