Under the Magnolia Tree
I buried an angel, on top of the hillUnder the magnolia treeHer wings are long since silentBut she still means the world to me The magnolia's flowers, cover her graveDecorated in majestic whiteShe said the scent was Heaven's perfumeAnd their smell was pure delight I was married to this angel for 41 yearsBefore Heaven called her awayI knew she had to leave this worldEven tho I begged her to stay I know that my loss, is Heaven's gainI guess they were one angel shortI know they wouldn't have taken her Unless it was the last resort Sometimes when I start missing herI can't wait til the magnolias bloomWe can sit and talk for hours While smelling their sweet perfume She said this is as close to HeavenAs anyone could ever beSo I buried her on the hillsideUnder that magnolia tree
