On The Shoal

On The Shoal
by: eddy styx

My history's ancient elegy
Litany of my soul's malaise,
Written and burning in my head
Twisted tortured and half crazed.
Agonized by your structured tales
The trail of lies seem endless,
Spinning spider's heart weaving webs
Hanging by a thread
of your colorless soul
You would see me lost,
Awash in your wake.
unaware that I will take you down with me
On this journey of soiled dank depression,
As I caress your velvet throat
With these deliberate dark artist's hands.
Die deliciously darling
Decidedly distressed,
While I feel your life-force thrashing
Crashing on the shores
of my desperate despair.

Eddy

Cat, Eddy never fails to let me down...this is text book Styx and i can't fault the structure or style. Stand out lines for me: As I caress your velvet throat With these deliberate dark artist’s hands that is so...Eddy Styx! I also like the same lines already picked out by Zigs. Maybe you'll treat us to a poem regarding the pain you are currently in...I always find strong emotions and feelings set me off on a writing frenzy. If you do, call it 'Staple'...I still have that haunting image of you being patched up with such a mundane stationery item...the stapler! Lol! Dear HS

You're right that line is so Styxian! You will probably be hearing more from Eddy while I am laid up with my silly pills. I might try a poem on the pain but not sure I will post it. If I write one I will let you an Zigs know. Staples... how undignified! LOL! Always, Eddy/Cat

Hi Jim

and I'm so glad that you do! I think all of us are a little fucked up, here and there Eddy just chooses to let his show. Thank you for your comment. Always, Eddy/Cat
