I DO NOT OWN YOU
"I do not own you"
I Love you like the songs of birds I love,
you do not have to love me too,
I do not own you,
I do not own anyone or anything,
I love you like the love of trees and breezes,
like the summer clouds that decorate the blue
of skies at dawn,
at night,
so subtle in their hues
so too the skies of days gone grey
their simple bliss
I love you just like this;
and without you,
they loose their glancing wonders,
they turn so black and without colours, dulled;
those precious moments in our lives that shine
and carry on their glow long after you are gone;
they sing their special individual song again,
and yet again,
just as when spring birds
join the choir and chant their melodies,
their old refrain rings true,
and jogs the memories anew,
to fill all sad parts,
and make our hearts remember,
even when its late,
and the year has reached september
warning of the winters cold and damp,
the thought of you,
my special friend, arises,
and fills my sense of being with new surprises,
so beautiful and warmed by your good cheer,
throughout the years of our acquaintance,
never fear that I should take advantage
of your solitude,
your own secret place of joy,
you can be mine without consent
or choices, and I content, will give a little sigh.
