That Dreaded Moment

Now that time is upon me
That dreaded moment
When all is silent
When the wind stops blowing
The birds stop singing
And my friends are no where to be found

Where the heat
Is boiling me from the inside
And I am afraid
More afraid than I have ever been

That place
Where my throat is dry
My heart stops beating
And I just know
This is the end

But its not
Somehow
Even though there is no light
At the end of the tunnel
I find my way back out

The world is not better
I have gained nothing from this
But hardship

In the face of mine enemy
I stand with my shoulders back
And scream from the mountain top

You did not win

This is a great write Hobo,

This is a great write Hobo, I really enjoyed it and not only can I hear you, I may hike up that mountain myself. I know that word caps all of the first letters of a line, but I think this piece would benifit from fixing that. Just an opinion, doesn't change the quality! Julie D.D.
