Scarce Realm
I can feel your warmth
the quilt steady
the window tall
and vacant to the night
These walls are full
of years
the victorian cold
the kitchen filled with
parking lot eyes
where snowflakes drift
like ashes
molten ghosts
muffled
I walk the wooden floors
and listen to the wind
talking in the limbs
of gnarled witness
you will talk
and whimper in your dreams
I will sit in the chair
knowing which spirit
will roam
and the storm will howl
like a hunting pack
my hunger filled eyes
will wait
