Arab-American Beauty Queen ~ what's in a name?

They strut their stuff
the beauties of our
wondrous state of
womanhood
judges will make
their marks
and America
will shower their
reigning queen
with the indignancy
of bigotry.

I am sick to death, America!
sick sick sick
of your surface beauty
Eve is not an
apple rotting,

the Statue of Liberty
is putting on a blindfold,
though it's raining
she seems unconcerned.

hey Anna

Honestly I wouldn't have known anything about it if you had not posted the link - not my cup of tea, although I must say she is a most beautiful woman. It really isn't America, you know. Its some of the scum ball idiots that our society allows a voice because of our belief in freedom of speech. Not to mention many of those below the threshold of scum-ball-ness who actually pretend to be leading us from both ends of the political cesspit. But yeah, you are right, they would not speak of her participation - her CLOTHED participation - in a stupid radio show EXERCISE CONTEST years ago if her ethnicity were European. Shades of Vanessa Williams, who went on to a great deal of success, and shoved it down their collective bigoted throats, if you recall. Lady Liberty has never been blind, just some of the idiots she is forced to watch over. I like your poem very much. Great write Kail

I think if you've got it and want to flaunt it...no matter race, colour or creed, as long as you can handle the good and the bad that comes with baring your bodily assets...I love it. Rosina xena465
