Vicious circle ( originally written as a folk song ) approx 20 years ago

I was deep in a sleep silently dreaming
When the wife came along and started screaming.

She prodded and poked me and said to me Jack
Get out of your slumber get off of your back.

I looked at my wife out of one eye
And said to her darling I feel I could die.

She said don’t be silly get out of your bed
Get off to work, you’ve just got a thick head.

Well I went off to work and I slogged all day long
And I started off home at the sound of the dong.

When I got home from work I slumped in my chair
I looked at my darling but she didn’t care.

I said to her please could you get me some tea
She said to me no dear you get some for me.

We sat there in silence I said to my dear
I’m off up the pub then to get me some beer.

She looked at me coldly and said with a bite
How soon will you be home then and I said “midnight”.

Baked bean pie!!!!

Ann of Norway Shirley what's THAT? I too like the Guinness and possibly the chips if they are crisp and thin enough, but baked beans in a pie? My sister said when she was young that heaven would be to eat baked beans every day , oh my oh my!!!! I liked beans now and then on toast in the evening, but a pie? A little French boy complained at being in GB as he got bangers and mash EVERY night, but that wasn't baked beans was it? We never entered a pub, not until we were old enough to go out on our own. My father hated the smell and taste of beer for some odd reason. Scuse me Mand I was jumping in in your place here Love to you Shirley, I would love to have a glass of wine with you IN ITALY! Love Ann

Now to the poem here!!!

Ann of Norway A great tale Mand, it rolls along with impetus and is a tale all right, but not the happiest of tales this! I would like to hear the song, perhaps you could make it a sound poem you can you know! Love from Ann.

Hello Ann, Thanks for

Hello Ann, Thanks for commenting Ann, I wonder when the rot set in on this relationship and who is to blame - interesting questions that need to be debated over a pint of guiness, my fellow guiness drinker, or better still over a glass of wine with Shirley in Italy. Sound poem, I'm going to look that up. lovely to hear from you Ann. Love Mand xxxx
