I said a prayer for you and me
for the world and all to see
Here is written a spoken word
what is lost, must be heard

I said a prayer for the parents today,
of all the children who've lost their way
Teach them lessons of right and wrong
begin early on, raise them strong

I said a prayer for the foundation of family
once where morals and values now gone
What has been lost must be regained
for the sake of the children, spare them pain

Let us pray for the children today
Also for the parents who have lost their way
