Lost Souls
I am lost.
I wonder infinitely with the stars at my back.
I pursue the sun and the purpose hidden in the light.
Yet the dark will not leave.
The sun no longer rises in the East.
The hew of dusk has been absent for too long
My path has no end, beginning has long since faded
The night, only whispers.
My own voice drowned in the sea of voices tailing the wind.
There is no escape.
Like fireflies attacking a centre,
I am blinded and cannot see beyond this wall of flame.
The light envelopes
Yet offers as much comfort as the never-ending night.
The darkness grows, the stars fade...
The wild echoes within, a hellish silence descends.
Alone.
