Lonliness
Is a dark night
Where even the stars
Hide their light
And leave you lost to wander
As you wonder
If I will return
Fearing that my love
Was nothing more
Than just another wet spot
On your sheets
Soon to dry and be forgotten
And as you go to sleep
Wrapped tightly in white linen
Where I once lay
You count the nights
That I am gone.
