Early nights and book cases

Close your eyes my love

Put down your books

No more reading about fairytales

It is time to live in one

No more early nights and book cases

Full of the dreams you wish could be

Your knight in shinning armor has come

To set you free

I will put one foot on the sun

And hold it down forever

So you can dance in the moonlight

For all eternity

I will release 10,000 doves into heaven

Just to sing you a lullaby

While you fall asleep in my arms

And wake up in my dreams

My love you will never shed another tear

Or ever be alone

For I know God has sent me

To love you

I love your poetry

Dear Randy, The title is perfect. Drew me right in. This is a great hero-love poem with solid images. My favorite: I will put one foot on the sun And hold it down forever So you can dance in the moonlight For all eternity Truly heroic speech. I think spelling out ten thousand is a better choice; Seeing '10,000' in the poem distracted me. Also, have you considered ending the poem at 'wake up in my dreams'? For me, the last four lines take away from the lullaby feel, almost as if it brings us back to reality too soon, the way waking up too early from a wonderful dream does. Still, I love the poem. Thanks, Lisa

The first thing a reader sees is the title . Yours was astounding . The rest of the poem did not dissapoint either "I will put one foot on the sun........" I cannot find the words to describe the freshness of this line Chrys

your words are as fresh and special as hand picked flowers for your Love... the magic of romance and commitment is so well expressed in these 4 lines of your heartsong...
