Why is it?

Why is it,

That late at night,
After I've put my computer to bed,
Words run through my head,

That while all those I know sleep,
And find rest in their pillows,
I could fill a five year journal,
With verses and thoughts,

That in morning's wee hours,
This is when I am at my best,
Good as the writer,
I always dreamed I could  be,

My husband will look at me tomorrow,
See my bloodshot eyes,
Ask "Rough night?"
And I will reply,
"No I was quite productive",

I have 3 poems to show for it,
And the beginning of some story,
That had been long buried in my mind,

He will shake his head,
And will not understand,
For only writers know,
The time that I speak of,

How we revel in them,
Those inescapable hours,
When words flow so freely,
From the tip of a pen,
That promises creative resolution,

Yet, humor is not lost on me,
When I see,
The irony,
That my computer slept last night,
And I didn't.

WoW!

This is so great Shane. It's true. Only a writer knows how it feels once you've finished your creation how wonderful it is. With me, I can be doing anything and a poem pops into my head and I try to work on it straight away in case I forget and then work on it until I’m happy with it...you truly are a poet. Rosina xena465

Simply Bundlefull

All spouses feel the same About their better halves And Have reason to complain I could perhaps keep awake The whole nite And Compose But my spouses frown I suppose shall steal the show. As the computer does sleep I weep And Words of passion flow From top to toe… The nite is young I say to myself In the morning I’ll scribble all In the arms of slumber I too fall … And Lo the morning has come too soon And I have forgot every thing I can't recall… Memory, they say is short lived Do not trust yourself Nor your spouse But when poetic thoughts Does one arouse? Jump the sack and don’t take a nap And Computer is then only on your lap… If tomorrow from fans You deserve A well earned clap… Snap, snap, snap…
