A Candle Flickers In The Dark

 

A candle flickers in the dark
glowing essence upon the wall
swiftly, comes in a breeze
to change the scene
A candle flickers in the dark 

Aromatic senses fill up a room
the wick of a candle burns so bright
dances around, flickers above
serenity takes over, peaceful the night 

A candle flickers in the dark
silenced moments of reflection
dances the shadows upon the wall
A candle flickers in the dark 

Light a candle today for someone
whose presence is gone
hold the light of that candle
To your memory so strong 

A candle flickers in the dark
glowing essence upon the wall
swiftly, comes in a breeze
to change the scene
A candle flickers in the dark

I love this very much. I can see myself sitting in the dark watching the candle light dancing against the wall. very nice write my friend

Candles

Mona, I really liked the repeated section of the candle flickers in the dark. This was a little dark for you, but in an illuminated way (that sounds like a contradiction!). I wanted to be in that room remembering and dreaming with just a dancing candle for company. Good imagery and I like the structure...but what is going on with the 50 lines between each stanza!! Yes late last nite I worked on it and I see I need to up the spaces, your so good to point that out for me and I shall correct. It really wasnt intended to be dark since I light candles all the time and have many kinds also. I love the way I can relax and meditate just watching those shadows and flickers all over the place and yes the aromatic smell also, always a good thing, thanks for the visit as always and your comments.
