Lilith (Black Madonna) Part 1

She is a spice that is rare
A flower that can be found in no place other

Above her waiting abode by night
The heavens unlock a shaft of light
That is God's recognition of my love for her

She is adorned with all the tortures of love
The idol of a dead god weighs heavy
Over her heart between her breasts
The twenty-four pieces of gold

When she is afraid she lets
Her blood red locks fall about her shoulders
Which fall to her ankles
Because she sees these are the chains
That men take and bind around themselves
The chains of desire

There are many forms of desire
The desire for sustenance
The desire not to die
To know or cause pain in oneself
Or others
The desire for objects and wealth
a kingdom of stone in which
to hide from the world
The desire for knowledge
The hazardous path to wisdom
I do not know which is worse
But the desire for love
leaves the deepest scars
Is the desire for love a sin
Born of loneliness
Of some dark recess of the self
That God has made vacant?
The desire to cleave
To ones exact opposite

"Do not look at me" She says
"Lest you should fall dangerously in love
For I am the flame and you are the moth
Should we pass one through the other
We both shall die, but I shall be saved
And you will take my place
The last living being at the end of time
Neither god nor human
Nor angel nor beast
You won't be the first who died for love

Be fearful for you are the food of time
I am neither of time or outside
I am the maiden who dances between
I dance the dance of the many veils
I am the maiden of the small faces
I am the angel and the devil
Neither can be separated from me
Such is my nature"

I AM THE VOID
I AM THE SPIDER'S WEB
I AM THE FIRST WOMAN
I AM THE GARDEN OF CREATION
I AM THE WHOLE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE
I AM EVERYTHING
I AM NOTHING
I WILL DESTROY YOU
THAT YOU MIGHT BE BORN...

Blood red locks

I will never call myself a redhead again! Last stanza: SPIDERS WEB --> SPIDER'S I love your imagery and word choice, John. I will definitely come back to this if you update it! Kelsey

The Hero

I like how the woman is always a hero in your poem.

I am very glad you see it

I am very glad you see it that way, I haven't written the second part yet but i want it to be alittle more redeeming perhaps than this one is, concentrating more on the positive side of the sacred feminine. it's kind of my main subject. better than writing about sunshine and turtledoves. there is good and bad in everyone, i try to let that be added into the flavour of my work. even the most wicked sinner can be saved, its up to God to decide if he/she's worthy. thankyou very much for reading my poems.

In God's hand

There is a famous Arabic saying...my humble translation "People's hearts are in God's palm; He change them as He wishes"...in other words a sinner may change in a blink of an eye and be saved. Can't wait to read the 2nd part...I like unexpected endings :)
