own self

A lonely owl calls your name
on seas of rolling grass breaking
surf on a cloudless night.
A sound that carries through your
burdens and grace like a boulder
falling from mountains into space

Spiraling down so deep inside your own
self, that it rattles and rocks you
back to where you belong,
before the lonely owl called your name
on seas of rolling grass breaking
surf on a cloudless night.

A swallow carries your fate
through winter rain dropping down
from sunny summer skies.
A fate equal to a slave
with the blood of seven kings
running through his veins

Royal in all but the material,
that for most men count as
their God and Master in heaven.
Like the swallow that carries your
fate through winter rain dropping
down from sunny summer skies.

A lone gypsy carries your soul
through deserts and markets with
a thousand calling voices.
Your soul calls out for his
other half to no avail, for another
thousand does the same.

Your soul cries and cries and cries,
And just before it dies his other
half hears his cries and replies.....
all hail to a lone gypsy that carries
your soul through deserts and markets
with a thousand calling voices.

I like the imagery your words invoke...the peace the pain...definitely worth another read or two...

Hello Johan...

This poem of yours is a true work of art... This first stanza, pulled me in: "A lonely owl calls your name on seas of rolling grass breaking surf on a cloudless night. A sound that carries through your burdens and grace like a boulder falling from mountains into space" The whole poem is sublime; and these last two: "A lone gypsy carries your soul through deserts and markets with a thousand calling voices. Your soul calls out for his other half to no avail, for another thousand does the same. Your soul cries and cries and cries, And just before it dies his other half hears his cries and replies….. all hail to a lone gypsy that carries your soul through deserts and markets with a thousand calling voices." Simply exquisite. Gentle regards, Raven-Shakti
