Hell Found Me
Hell found me the day I walked into that coffee shop
to find you sitting on Fitzroy ’s foot stool, thumbing through the well worn pages of
‘Origin of the Species, ‘and chewing on your stubby, low down, finger nails.
From that day to this, I’ve never understood you
desperate to know what the deal is, what’s the appeal
the years have not touched you, still that lopsided grin
hiding the sinning heart within.
Everything else has changed, from the architecture
to the population of our little world, but you haven't,
as I sit here today, trying to recollect,
I can't remember a day you did'nt arrive
filled with charm and a deep seated immorality,
an arrogance that filled me with regret
you scoundrel, you dog , when you're gone
or maybe when you're dead
i'll try to forget you ,get you out of my head.
