Out of reach

 Tepid the rain falls
as lights within call
these limpid pools well
then quiver like gel

labors of change
held at a range
with waves of tears
that desert our fears

black as a coal
is filled in his soul
puppet on a string
so heartless he brings

far from a distance
no allowed resistance
as yesterday taunts
who is it that flaunts

brazen from reach
years that impeach
our questionable brush
now time has crushed

left only in days
that add to  plays
the roles were given
right here we live in

limpid pools call
as tepid rain falls
as light within
carry these sins

not just for people
but holy the steeples
the souls found hiding
from a love non abiding
