The Summer Rose

The Summer Rose
Kneads the dawns yellow knife
to shape its needs

Its winsome roots call the clouds
to its sleep song
Amongst the miry reeds

To kiss the snakes jeweled eye
As it dozes beneath
St. Gabriels stare
And the shadows
Of his taloned feet

Gorgeous take on a *summer

Gorgeous take on a *summer rose*. Especially liked the last stanza, brilliant! Well done to perfection! ~A "The plain man is familiar with blindness and deafness, and knows from his everyday experience that the look of things is influenced by his senses, but it never occurs to him to regard the whole world as a creation of his senses." ~ Ernst Mach

Shadowy

I like your sepia toned reproduction, It has some originality to it. Remember, original thought is what makes those old paintings worth so much money, a least that's what I picked up in Art School...CS
