Charlatan

He manifests in the form of a friend
Plays with your mind and sucks you in
You divulge your heart, bare your all
Elation turns to revulsion, you vomit
He's the joker, you're the joke
I laugh, because I'm standing tall
But little does he comprehend
We know he's a rat in a trap, disguised
A rodent, untamed, named; shamed.

When the charlatan knows he's exposed
He takes on the form of another beast
Reels you in like a fish on a hook
Splashing, struggling to slip the line
You're not as gullible as before
In Chess I'm the Queen, but also the Rook
Playing along just for kicks
He becomes the joke, the jester
I'm now the Player, the Slayer.

Hey dear girl

No need for me to do that, you really are talented. I am just pleased I have finally got some reading in. I have found your poetry this morning quite astounding, truthfully. All I have read are full of depth and I found no fault etc, then again, when do I check, lol. I just love to read and if it pleases me I say so. I think I look deeper into writes and associate them more with the person than the poet. That may be wrong but that is just how it is. I do find your poetry to be high on the rung, so to speak, and I can feel your feeling in them. So all said and done hun, just keep doing what you are doing as you are doing it brilliantly. XX
