the long division of hummingbirds

free hand,
human frailty paints
a straight line
to my heart
and the madness begins

i disappear under waves of emotion,
in another world
we are drunken butterflies
sipping from an ever-blossoming well
the golden nectar of gods,

bewildered in the magnitude of wings,
we are immortality found,
words trail us like lost sheep.
